Position : Marine Electronics Technician
Job Summary: Applicant must have proficiency and training in all aspects of marine 12v DC Systems and electronic installations and repairs, including but not limited to: conducting surveys of existing electrical systems; trouble shooting faulty marine electronic equipment; mounting and rigging of all major electronics brands; proficient in the use of computer diagnostic tools; proficient in electronics installations, VHF, GPS, Depth sounder, etc.
Primary Activities and Responsibilities:
- Installation and troubleshooting of Marine electronics on 12 VDC electrical
systems. Installation and trouble shooting of communications systems, including VHF radios,
satellite radio and television systems.
- Installation and troubleshooting Ethernet, NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 systems.
- Understanding and familiarity of NMEA 2000 installation standards
- Installation of new Marine electronics and associated wiring to NMEA and ABYC
standards. Good communication skills and the ability to implement instruction and discuss issues that may arise during service and installation.
- Have experience in the use of small hand tools and various electronic test equipment.Continuation of education with classes as available
- Abide by all company rules and maintain a professional appearance.
- Communication with office personnel for compiling.
- Follow OSHA Safety regulationsMinimum Job Qualifications:
- High School graduate or equivalency
- Thorough understanding of AC and DC systems and technically savvy.
- 1-3 years of Marine Electronics installation experience would be ideal.
- Valid FL drivers license with clean driving record
- Able to perform physical duties and do heavy lifting
Preferred Qualifications in addition to the above qualifications:
- Associates degree in electronics or electrical engineering
- Experience in sales or desire to learn
- NMEA MEI certificate
- Certifications from accredited schools NMEA, Garmin, Navico, ABYC, etc.
Job Requirements:
- Use of a Table saw or more technical tools a plus.
- Military service a plus
Pay and Benefits:
- Hourly wage appropriate for experience and training.
- Paid Holidays after 90 day trial period.

- Work hours and days: 7:45 am – 4:30pm Monday-Friday.
