Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring accuracy in payroll calculations, and maintaining compliance with tax regulations. This role is crucial in supporting our clients by ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing. This is an in-person position Monday through Thursday, and from home Fridays.
Duties
- Process payrolls for clients accurately and on time, utilizing payroll software and system UKG Ready.
- Respond to questions from Clients regarding the use of UKG Ready.
- Conduct account reconciliation to resolve discrepancies in payroll accounts.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations related to payroll processing.
- Maintain employee records related to payroll, including deductions, benefits, garnishments and tax information.
- Assist Clients with Client data maintenance, setup, and configuration changes as needed.
- Collaborate with the timekeeping department to ensure accurate reporting of hours worked and leave taken by employees.
- Performs new feature setup requests.
- Use on-line tools and other resources to research and respond to Client inquiries requiring guidance on how to address a wide variety of payroll, pay practice and payroll tax questions and situations.
- Collaborates with internal Clients/Partners (401k, FSA, Tax, etc.) and/or third party vendors involved in providing services to identify and resolve issues and ensure that these services meet Client expectations.
Skills
- Payroll processing experience. Basic knowledge of payroll tax deposit, filings, principles and wage and hour laws.
- Experience with payroll management systems such as Paychex, ADP or UKG is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with tax regulations affecting payroll processing is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills are required for maintaining accurate records.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to analyze and resolve problems through effective customer interface and communication.
- Must be able to work under time constraints to ensure that deadlines are met.

- Proficient in MS Office applications, especially Word and Excel Proficiency.
