Acupuncturist - Ochsner Therapy & Wellness - Baton Rouge.
The Acupuncturist provides skilled and safe acupuncture services/interventions, in accordance with physician orders.

Education:
- Required - Graduate from an approved program of the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM).
Work Experience:
- Preferred - 2 years of experience in providing acupuncture services to the public within the past 5 years & 1850 hours of training.
Certifications:
- Required - National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) national board certification as a Diplomat of Acupuncture.
- Current license as a registered acupuncturist in the state of practice.
- Preferred - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association or achieve within 90 days of hire.
Job Duties:
- Performs comprehensive and holistic health assessments to develop a plan of care for each patient: assesses patient needs and plans for, evaluates, and modifies care to meet goals of acupuncture interventions.
- Provides skilled and safe acupuncture services/interventions in accordance with physician orders to provide the highest quality care and pain relief to patients.
- Collaborates with various departments to plan and evaluate team goals for each patient.
- Communicates effectively with physicians, patients, families, and staff regarding patient status, both verbally and in writing.
- Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
- Maintains detailed and complete records of health care plans and prognoses.
- Performs other related duties as required.
