Certification Details BLS - Basic Life Support ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support NIHSS - National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale Job Details Registered Nurse position in a Major Trauma unit specializing in multi-trauma, neuro surgery, and orthopedic trauma. Experience in neuro surgery is required. Patient diagnoses include multi-trauma, seizure, GSW, falls, TBI, stroke, sepsis, psych, and epidural hematomas. Job Requirements Current and valid Louisiana RN license or Compact License required. BLS certification required; must be AHA only and RQI is accepted. ACLS certification preferred; must be completed if certification expires within 30 days of start. Schedule Information Every other holiday required. Float requirement : Can be pulled to all other inpatient units. Unable to guarantee specific scheduling requests; schedule as needed per unit. Unit Specific Information Special procedures include craniotomy, spinal fusions, ORIF, and muscle flaps. Special equipment includes traction, external fixators, PCA pumps, and central lines.
