What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physician - General Pediatrician - Full Time Academic position at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport?
Ochsner LSU Health System and Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center- Shreveport is seeking a full-time BC/BE Pediatrician. Must be board certified/board eligible in Pediatrics and eligible for active Louisiana Medical Licensure. Primary responsibilities include a Pediatric practice with patient care, resident and medical student education. Protected time is available to pursue clinical and/or laboratory research interests.
The Children’s Hospital at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport and Ochsner LSU Health St. Mary is the only major academic medical center in the area and receives patients from a catchment area with a radius of approximately 75-100 miles, which includes a population of approximately 1½ million people. The Pediatric Department is a large academic multispecialty department with active clinical and basic research programs.
Highlights of the Position:
- 21 Pediatric Subspecialists Full-Time and Part-Time Faculty
- Pediatric residency training program with 24 residents (8 per year)
- Med/Peds residency training program with 16 residents (4 per year)
- Collegial and multidisciplinary team of physicians and nurses with whom to collaborate
- Physician leadership and input at all levels of administration
