Regional Cost Manager Responsibilities Include
- Supervise, mentor and develop estimators in the region
- Maintain high-quality estimating services and client satisfaction.
- Foster relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
- Create cost estimates, studies, analyses, and evaluations, at all levels of project development, independently or as part of an external or internal team.
- Oversees the scheduling and coordination of regional estimating workload and team management tasks, including quality control, proposal fees, and task coordination.
- Ensures timely and accurate work products & deliverables to clients in accordance with QA/QC procedures.
- Conducts a detailed review of all documentation and develops comprehensive cost estimates/models that communicate client’s project and strategic goals.
- Collaborate with clients to provide customized cost estimating solutions
- Regularly reviews and communicates to management estimating resource levels and forecast changes in need of staff based upon future forecasted workload.
- Provide timely and accurate updates on project progress, milestones, and any changes in status.
- Organize and participate in routine meetings to discuss project developments, address concerns, and align on objectives.
- Supports business development efforts by developing, promoting, and maintaining client relationships through the creation of cost exhibits for proposals, meetings, presentations, etc.
- Minimum of 5 years cost estimating and management experience for construction/engineering projects. Prior cost consultant experience required.
- Expertise in preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for various vertical construction/engineering projects, to include, but not limited to ROM estimating, conceptual estimating, take-offs, change order review/reconciliation, value engineering solutions, and benchmarking.
- Expertise in managing the full lifecycle of cost estimating, from initial proposal to final cost reporting.
- Ability to understand and accurately interpret construction documents at all levels of design.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Proficiency in cost estimating software (e.g., On Screen Takeoff (OST), Destini, or similar) and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, or a related field preferred.
