Overview

Genesee Lake School is seeking a Learning Coordinator to join their Education Leadership team!

The Learning Coordinator will be responsible for the creation, alignment, and delivery of high-quality instruction, assessment, and compliance practices to elevate student achievement.

As a vital member of the GLS Education Leadership & MyPath EDU leadership teams, the LC works collaboratively with education staff to provide expertise and assist school personnel in the implementation and administration of assessments, analysis, and reporting of student data used in targeting and monitoring the effectiveness of instructional practices, academic interventions, curriculum, and professional development of the education department.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide on-site leadership & direction on the development of the curriculum and instruction resources, including curricular guides with scope and sequence documents, pacing guides, and related support.
  • Leads & develops site based professional development for teachers and support staff to assist in raising the level of instructional performance and student achievement.
  • Implement the selection and adoption of new textbooks, instructional materials, and methods.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of instructional methods and educational materials and resources to ensure they are inclusive and recommend revisions as needed for MyPath Schools.
  • Updates Curricular Handbook and Course catalog, and facilitates website updates.
  • Maintains the curriculum budget and approves purchase orders/expenditures.
  • Implements professional learning to support the curriculum using effective practices, including research on theory and content standards.
  • Plans and participates in department in-services per the site based school calendar.
  • Oversees the ongoing assessment and progress monitoring of students and their learning using data. Leads site based teachers in equitable data collection and analysis.
  • Contribute to the data determination and analysis via the Student Information System.
  • Conducts or assigns a designee to complete curriculum-based assessment with students upon admission, creates a plan for student's educational experience, and schedules classes accordingly.
  • Monitors progress reporting on academic IEP goals and assignments.
  • Conducts or assigns a designee to review potential and admitted student records in addition to supporting placement testing/assessments for classroom determination.
  • Supports and mentors teachers in the classroom on inclusive instructional practices and curriculum assessment.
  • Oversees the mentoring program and supports for all new and provisional teachers, including conducting regular scheduled meetings to review progress, assist and oversee curriculum development, complete observations in relation to instructional practices and curricular resources.
  • Follows out of state education regulations as applicable in relation to curriculum and instruction.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of research-based best practices in curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional learning. Maintains abreast of current trends in curriculum development and other related areas; attends conferences, workshops and other training as needed and shares this new information with the department.
  • Attends meetings, in-services, and other meetings as scheduled to discuss current developments and exchange ideas and information to encourage working relationships with fellow teachers. Attends campus specific meetings and MyPath Education leadership teams in addition to immediate supervisor to plan implementation of academic instruction and discuss student progress.
  • Conducts self in a positive, respectful and collaborative manner demonstrating proactive actions, MyPath Beliefs and Behaviors, and decision making that foster supportive work relationships and a healthy and safe environment.
  • Communicates effectively verbally and in writing with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining professional conduct and confidentiality.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • 5 years of experience in teaching and/or instructional role required.
  • Special or Regular Education Teacher Licensure by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction required.
  • Master’s Degree in instructional learning (5010) or another education leadership degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in evaluating, leading, and coaching in an education environment preferred.
  • Experience working with students with autism, emotional disabilities or intellectual disabilities is preferred.
  • This position will have several direct reports within the Education team. Previous leadership experience is preferred.

SALARY & BENEFITS:

  • Schedule: Monday- Friday; 40 hrs weekly/FT; Year Round/Non-Contract
  • Salary: $70-$75k annually; based on level of Education and Experience
  • Location: Oconomowoc, WI @ Genesee Lake School

Salary : $70,000 - $75,000
