Overview
Genesee Lake School (GLS), a MyPath School, is looking for a FT internal Substitute Teacher to join our education department! We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and caring educator who is looking to make a difference in our students lives!

JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Provides individualized education and engages students in active learning.
- Provides classroom data, reports, observations, and feedback when requested by the designated IEP team.
- Ensures that classroom environment and activities are conducive to students’ development of independence, competence, and sense of self-worth.
- Incorporates thematic teaching units in the curriculum.
- Assigns and supervises specific teaching and classroom tasks to Instructional Aides and ESPs/DSPs. Provides feedback for staff working within the classroom setting and ensures that Education Department policies are withheld.
- Implements instructional models for students assigned.
- Collaborates with various departments and programs to discuss implementing treatment plans within the academic setting.
- Uses Agency-approved treatment techniques in supervising and educating students.
- Demonstrates flexibility in meeting changing student needs.
- Comfortable supporting students across all programs and flexible with supporting any classroom as needed.
- Ability to instruct utilizing a workshop approach, incorporating elements of direct instruction, independent work time, learning games, etc
- Be trained in our therapeutic approaches within our fully paid 4 week training program!
Additional Information
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university is required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Certified or eligible to become certified by the State of Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction as a substitute teacher.
- Experience working with autism, emotional disabilities, or intellectual disabilities in a teaching capacity is preferred.
- Satisfactory performance and attendance record.
- Demonstrates an ability to exercise good judgment and effectively solve problems.
WAGES & BENEFITS:
- Hours: 7:30-3:30pm or 8-4pm during the regular school year availability to work ESY
- Schedule: Monday- Friday, following a traditional school calendar
- Pay Range: From $21.50/hr, with further credit for Bachelor's & Master's degrees
