Our Parks and Recreation Department is seeking individuals who love to swim, work with children, and wanting to spend their summer outdoors on the beach. We will train and certify you through the American Red Cross program, if not already certified.

Job Summary: Under the general supervision of the Waterfront Supervisor, lifeguards are responsible for the safety of all swimmers and for the enforcement of all waterfront rules and regulations. Lifeguards are available to respond to emergencies.
Examples of Duties
- Monitor and supervise swimming areas to ensure the safety of all swimmers.
- Enforce waterfront rules and regulations to maintain a safe environment.
- Conduct rescues and administer first aid and CPR when necessary.
- Provide swimming lessons and activities.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Assist with the opening and closing of the beach each day.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications
Requirements:
- Ability to study and pass the American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification program (we provide the training, if not certified).
- Available Memorial Day through Labor Day, 20 to 40 hours per week including weekdays, weekends, and evenings.
- Must be dependable and able to report to work on time.
