- High School Diploma
- Washington State Driver's License
- WSP Fingerprint/Background Clearance
- The cook's primary responsibility will be to assist the head cook in cooking, baking, preparing, and serving food items that meet mandated nutritional requirements; verifying quantities and specifications of orders; maintaining facilities in a sanitary condition; and assisting assigned food services personnel in food preparation.
- Maintains the highest standards of safety and cleanliness in the kitchen.
- Maintains all food handling and storage in compliance with state health department guidelines.
- Prepares food according to a planned menu and determines if the finished product is of best quality, both in flavor and appearance before it is served.
- Serves breakfast and/or lunches to students or sells ala carte items.
- Cleans cafeteria area, including the sanitation and wiping down of tables prior to storage.
- Assists head cook as requested.
- Reports immediately to the food service supervisor any problems or accidents occurring in the kitchen or on the cafeteria premises.
- Reports to the food service supervisor any faulty or inferior quality food that is received.
- Performs the daily cleaning of all kitchen equipment, the washing and sterilizing of all dishes, silverware, and utensils.
- Performs other food service-related duties as assigned pursuant to the contract.
- Performs the essentials of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Completes work assigned.
- Consistently deals with people in a courteous and professional manner.
- Must have regular attendance.
- Demonstrate good judgment and common sense.
- Capable of standing/walking without restrictions.
- Demonstrate ability to operate and care for kitchen equipment and ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds.
