THE JOB / Basketball Trainee

Are you a hard-working and focused individual who is interested in a career in sports marketing? This role will provide you with hands-on experience in athlete representation. This is a paid, temporary position.

Who We’re Looking For

• You have prior experience in basketball
• You are very organized with a strong attention to detail
• You have the ability to build rapport and gain the trust of athlete clients and internal team
• You have proven experience in positions requiring discretion, tact, and poise
• Heightened sense of urgency and outstanding judgement
• Highly motivated with ability to work independently and solve problems
  
  
  

The work you’ll do…

• Provide administrative support to the Basketball staff
• Respond to immediate client requests and/or needs, including errands
• Assist team with the recruitment of High School and College athletes
• Prepare for player camps, attend camps and secure product for attendees
• Conduct research on athletes and competitors
• Organize and execute pro days in Chicago
• Create pre-draft schedules for rookie clients
• Create and execute summer programs for veteran clients
• Lead information gathering for all amateur events and AAU coaches in the Midwest (Chicago, Michigan, Indiana and Wisconsin)
• Communicate client needs internally to team members, and follow up to ensure completion of tasks
• Prepare scouting reports and statistical updates on all clients
