EVENTS / Responsible for planning and executing event and experiential marketing programs.
***Our headquarters are in Stamford, CT, but the location of this position can be flexible with a priority given to candidates open to hybrid work (3 days a week in the office) in one of our office locations - - Stamford, CT or Cary, NC.***
We're looking for an Event Executive to join to our Events division. This role will support the Event Director in the planning and execution of Octagon's portfolio of managed events. The day-to-day will include coordinating event and activation logistics, assisting in the execution of programs & daily client communications, and management of client assets for individual programs. While coordinating these programs, you'll also assist in brainstorming new programs to drive our clients' partner marketing objectives.
The Event Executive will primarily focus on the Champions for Charity account, a charitable grassroots golf program for our automobile client. The role will oversee sponsorship planning and event communication for dealerships in the Southern Region, ensuring seamless coordination and engagement. The EE will also be responsible for organizing and implementing key program functions for both local event activations and the National Championship.
Additionally, this position will work closely with the Operations Manager on event planning and on-site coordination for the SAS Championship, and The Soccer Tournament, both hosted in Cary, NC.
The position is also expected to provide support for other client programs and events as needed throughout the year.
THE WORK YOU'LL DO
- Appreciate and cultivate the existing client relationship by working with corporate and area offices to ensure that all partners are aware of all program parameters
- Promote National Championship while on-site at local events
- Play a key role in the implementation of the Champions for Charity National Championship; SAS Championship, The Soccer Tournament, and other client programs and events as needed
- Support operational and logistical aspects of the SAS Championship, The Soccer Tournament and other client programs and events, including budget management; vendor procurement, coordination and management; special events logistics and additional responsibilities as needed
- Assist in training of limited-term employees and help develop a team environment

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- A passion for live events, event planning, and execution
- 1-2 years' work experience in event management or event production
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Ability to work as part of a team, demonstrate initiative, and tackle problems independently
- Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
- Knowledge, experience, and interest in the game of golf
- Flexibility and willingness to travel domestically and work weekends or holidays as needed. Anticipated travel level: Moderate (20-45%)
This position pays $40,000, is overtime-eligible and comes with a comprehensive benefits package.
