Job Summary
We are in search of a Manager of Logistics to oversee all aspects of our shipping operations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products by planning, implementing, and managing the entire shipping process, including coordinating with carriers, managing inventory, supervising shipping staff, and maintaining compliance with regulations, all while optimizing costs and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning:
- Develop and execute overall shipping strategy, including setting goals for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock for outgoing shipments.
- Order Processing:
- Review and prioritize customer orders, ensuring accurate picking and packing.
- Carrier Management:
- Negotiate shipping rates with carriers, select optimal transportation modes, and manage carrier relationships.
- Shipment Tracking:
- Utilize shipping software to track shipments throughout the delivery process and address any issues.
- Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to all shipping regulations, including labeling, documentation, and customs requirements.
- Staff Supervision:
- Lead and manage a team of shipping personnel, assigning tasks, providing training, and evaluating performance.
- Cost Control:
- Monitor shipping expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and manage budget effectively.
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Generate reports on shipping performance metrics, including delivery times, accuracy, and cost analysis.
- Process Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate and implement process improvements to optimize shipping efficiency.
