Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic, passionate, and experienced General Manager to oversee operations of our high-energy restaurant and bar located within the new Indigo Hotel in Huntsville's vibrant MidCity District. This exciting venue will cater to guests attending events at the nearby Orion Amphitheater and those staying at the hotel, offering small plates, signature cocktails, and memorable DJ brunch experiences. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing high-volume restaurants and bars, possess strong leadership abilities, and maintain a commitment to outstanding guest service.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of front-of-house and back-of-house staff to ensure consistent, high-quality service.
- Set performance goals, conduct regular evaluations, and foster a positive, motivating work environment.
- Oversee recruitment, hiring, training, and onboarding for all staff positions, ensuring alignment with the restaurant's culture and service standards.
- Organize and lead daily and weekly staff meetings to ensure smooth operations and staff engagement.
- Operations & Guest Experience:
- Manage day-to-day operations, including opening and closing duties, inventory management, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain high standards for food and drink quality, presentation, and service consistency.
- Monitor guest satisfaction and address concerns or feedback in a timely, professional manner to ensure a positive experience for all patrons.
- Ensure that all operations are running efficiently, especially during high-volume service periods such as weekends and event nights.
- Financial Management:
- Oversee budgeting, P&L management, and cost control strategies to meet financial goals, including labor, food, and beverage costs.
- Analyze daily sales and performance metrics, making data-driven decisions to optimize revenue.
- Control inventory, order supplies, and manage vendor relationships while minimizing waste.
- Marketing & Community Engagement:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional campaigns, events, and special offers to increase foot traffic and build a loyal customer base.
- Develop relationships with local businesses, influencers, and event coordinators to promote the restaurant and leverage its proximity to the Orion Amphitheater and Indigo Hotel.
- Help curate the restaurant’s brand identity by ensuring that the atmosphere, service, and menu align with the company’s vision.
- Cocktail & Dining Experience:
- Oversee the development and execution of seasonal menus, including small plates and cocktail offerings, with a focus on local ingredients and trendy, innovative options.
- Ensure that bartenders and kitchen staff are trained on proper presentation, execution, and quality control of signature drinks and small plates.
- Champion a guest-first mentality by ensuring high standards for both the dining room and bar experiences.
- Event Management:
- Coordinate with event planners and the hotel's management team to ensure seamless integration with the Orion Amphitheater’s event schedule, creating unique experiences for guests before and after events.
- Oversee the logistics of hosting DJ brunches, private parties, or any special events that may be scheduled.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3 years of experience in restaurant or bar management, with a strong emphasis on high-volume operations.
- Skills: Proven leadership skills, strong organizational abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional service.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of restaurant operations, including inventory management, cost control, and POS systems.
- Customer-Centric: A passion for creating memorable dining experiences and fostering customer loyalty.
- Flexibility: Ability to adapt to the fast-paced, dynamic nature of the industry, especially during events or busy weekends.
- Local Insight: Knowledge of Huntsville’s local food scene, trends, and customer demographics is a plus.
