OCTOPI - Quality Assurance Lead Technician
Available Shift: Monday-Friday 8am-4pm
Total pay includes $23-$25/hr base. The base pay for this role may vary based on experience.
We are a growing facility and hiring to staff for our expansions! Our environment is a clean facility with new equipment that can assist brewers in performing various beverage production tasks.
Job Summary:
The Quality Lead Technician is responsible for providing daily guidance and direction, under the guide of Quality Leadership, to the QA Technicians in terms of both liquid and packaging quality and food safety. The Lead tech will also assist other departments in troubleshooting quality and food safety issues, conducting training, SOP creation, and other cross departmental activities.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Assist in shift-to-shift communication by serving as a liaison between quality technicians, lead persons, and QA/Packaging/liquid processing managers.
· Based on production need and resources, organize workload between lab techs on shift.
· Ensure adequate communication between shifts and between departments as necessary.
· Ensure Standard Operating Procedures are being followed by Technicians and Operations.
· Coordinate and execute lab tech training and refresher trainings as assigned.
· Review all lab data throughout the shift and follow up on any out of spec or data inconsistencies and escalate as appropriate.
· Coach lab technicians on proper analysis, communication, and incident reactions as needed.
· Be the point of contact for the Quality team and take responsibility for effective communication up as needed.
· Communicate directly with other department supervisors/leads to investigate and correct out of spec situations.
· Review client data and upload as necessary and as assigned.
· Oversee the quality hold process occurring within the shift worked. Ensure appropriate escalation and detailed communication.
· Work with Quality Manger and appropriate departments to manage the qualification of new/trial product quality needs as assigned.
· Be a positive role model for individuals, employees, co-workers, and management. Represent the company in a professional manner.
· Enforce and adhere to all GMP, PPE, and Food Safety Policies.
· Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- At least 6 months experience as a lab technician in the beverage industry or 1 year of experience as a quality lab technician in an applicable food or other manufacturing industry is required.
- Bachelor of Science degree in an applicable science (Biology, Food Science, Chemistry, etc.) Is preferred.
- Knowledge of HACCP, SQF, and GMP's, federal and state regulations concerning sanitary/food manufacturing operations is desired.
- Strong data interpretation skills.
- Strong leadership and team skills.
Compensation details: 23-23 Hourly Wage
