The Regulatory Specification Supervisor is at the forefront of regulatory compliance, ensuring all processes and documentation align with industry standards and guidelines. This role serves as the primary point of contact for customers regarding regulatory compliance, specifications, food safety, and documentation communications.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Create, review, and update finished product specifications for customers.
- Manage and maintain relationships with customers regarding documentation requests and customer portal usage.
- Conduct risk assessments on new ingredients and vendors, submitting findings for approval.
- Complete and submit documentation for regulatory requirements and claims, including USDA, dairy, state regulatory mandates, import/export, and tariffs.
- Serve as the lead for Halal and other certification programs, including audits and documentation support.
- Collaborate with management and customers on regulatory, food safety, and labeling/nutritional compliance.
- Work with cross-functional teams to create, review, and update product-related documentation.
- Stay informed on current and evolving regulations and industry trends.
- Maintain expertise on product tariff assignments and international regulatory requirements.
- Provide backup support for Quality Data Control functions.
- Adhere to all GMP, safety, food safety, and standardized work procedures.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- BS/BA degree in nutrition, food science, or related field (MS/MA preferred), or 10 years of experience in regulatory affairs, food labeling, compliance, or product development.
- Minimum 3 years of regulatory and quality experience in the food industry.
- Experience with Quality or ERP software (Vicinity, Safefood 360, and HorizonScan a plus).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in regulatory documentation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
- Knowledge of FDA food labeling regulations and US/international regulatory compliance.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively to solve complex regulatory challenges.
