Job Overview
The Laboratory Technician will operate various precision manufacturing equipment to produce contact lenses in accordance with regulatory and quality management guidelines to ensure daily smooth operations and timely delivery.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties (other duties may be assigned):
- Follow written and verbal work instructions to complete assigned process
- Adhere to production schedules and duty assignments within the lab.
- Coordinate with Customer Service to assure timely order fulfillment.
- Report any malfunctioning equipment to management.
- Clean and sanitize production areas and equipment.
- Maintain a safe working environment by following regulations and standards.
- Address and resolve issues on the production line.
- Adhere to strict quality control measures to meet product, industry, and customer standards, ensuring timely production.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
Qualifications and Skills, some of which may be gained or further developed after entering the job:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in operating advanced technical machinery and basic hand tools
- Strong listening and communication abilities
- Capability to prioritize and organize daily workload efficiently
- Competence in safely and accurately handling all measuring and production equipment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Adherence to safety protocols and ability to follow written and verbal work instructions
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 or similar software for completing logs and records
Physical demands and work environment
Work is conducted in a Level 5 cleanroom, where you will operate precision manufacturing equipment. Due to the nature of the job, you may be frequently exposed to loud noise, dust, and chemicals. The role requires standing and walking for extended periods, and you may occasionally need to lift and carry supplies and equipment weighing up to 10 pounds.
