TITLE: Accounting Supervisor
In this role, you are responsible for maintaining the general ledger and posting entries, billing, accounts payable, generating financial reports, all cash deposits and supply chain. The assistant provides customer support to physicians, administration, employees, vendors and other organizations regarding financial and/or supplies issues.
FLSA STATUS: Exempt TYPE OF POSITION: Full Time
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Responsible for maintaining the general ledger and posting entries.
- Manages accounts payable: Maintains accounting files, reconciles payments, reviews invoices, processes check requests, and files checks.
- Prepares and processes purchase orders, invoices, check requests and contract payments.
- Provides standard monthly accounting reports.
- Prepares proformas for planning.
- Participates in annual budget process.
- Researches and resolves accounting discrepancies and issues.
- Maintains vendor files, corresponds with vendors and manages vendor relationships.
- Refunds overpayments made by patient and insurance companies.
- Oversees supply chain purchasing, tracking and distributing equipment and supplies.
- Maintains appropriate inventory levels and forecasts demand needs.
- Tracks and deposits cash into the bank account.
- Analyze payables and accrue use tax to be reported and paid to the State Comptrollers office.
- Annually reviews uncashed patient and insurance checks that need to be submitted and paid out to the unclaimed property division at the State Comptrollers Office.
- Annually completes and mails 1099’s.
- Works with Tax Accountant to pull needed information for tax return.
- Supervises accounts payable processor and metrics analyst.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
- Basic business data processing principles and practices as applied to financial record keeping and accounting.
- Experience using Quickbooks
- Knowledge of Excel; pivot tables are a plus
- Experience interacting with vendors
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
