We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive IT Business Analyst / IT Coordinator to support the CIO in gathering requirements and driving the execution of strategic IT improvements, initiatives, and projects.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the modernization and optimization of our IT infrastructure and systems, including hardware inventory, systems audits, intranet revamps, and lab updates. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong analytical thinking, organizational skills, and a passion for improving processes and user experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the CIO to gather requirements and define project scopes for new IT initiatives.
- Conduct a thorough inventory and assessment of existing hardware, systems, computer labs, and internal tools (e.g., home-grown intranet).
- Assist in planning and prioritizing upgrades or replacements for outdated hardware and systems.
- Analyze and document existing operational workflows, and recommend process redesigns using modern tools and best practices.
- Serve as a liaison between IT and various departments to ensure alignment and smooth implementation of initiatives.
- Support the evaluation and adoption of tools such as SharePoint for collaboration and documentation.
- Monitor project timelines and communicate progress to stakeholders.
- Ensure that user requirements and usability considerations are integrated into project planning and execution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 0-1 year of experience in IT coordination, business analysis, or related roles.
- General understanding of IT infrastructure, hardware, and enterprise systems.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
- Experience in assessing and improving workflows and processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with SharePoint is highly desirable.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
- Experience in a higher education or nonprofit environment.
