As a CMBS Trader, you will be responsible for executing client orders, managing risk, and providing market insights to institutional clients. Your expertise in structured finance and commercial real estate markets will be key to maintaining strong relationships and driving business growth.

The estimated base salary range for this position, at the time of posting, is $100,000 to $150,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. When finalizing an offer, we take into consideration an individual's experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role to formulate a competitive total compensation package. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. The final base salary amount that is offered to any candidate, in any location, will be determined on several factors, which may include but are not limited to location, work experience, skills, knowledge, education, and/or regulatory licenses.

Responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with current trading team on executing CMBS transactions for institutional clients while ensuring best execution practices
- Assess market conditions, spreads, liquidity, and relative value opportunities before executing trades
- Provide liquidity in CMBS markets by facilitating buy and sell-side transactions
- Develop and refine pricing models for various CMBS structures based on market conditions
- Continuously monitor and analyze spreads across different CMBS tranches and structures, identifying potential arbitrage or mispricing opportunities
- Compare internal pricing models with external market levels to maintain competitive and attractive bid/offer spreads
- Collaborate closely with sales teams to provide market color, trade ideas, and execution strategies to institutional clients
- Provide institutional clients with real-time insights into market trends, trade ideas, and CMBS valuation shifts
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with institutional clients, ensuring high-quality service and repeat business
- Monitor market risks and ensure compliance with internal and regulatory requirements
- Stay informed on macroeconomic trends, interest rate movements, and commercial real estate fundamentals affecting CMBS pricing and liquidity
- Ensure all trading activities align with SEC, FINRA, and other relevant regulations
- Deep understanding of CMBS structures, prepayment risks, cash flow modeling, and credit fundamentals
- Analytical Skills: Ability to assess relative value, identify trading opportunities, and analyze macroeconomic factors affecting CMBS markets
- Technology Proficiency: Strong grasp of trading platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Tradeweb), pricing models, and data analytics tools
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - able to interact with people of all levels in a confident, professional manner
- Communication: Ability to clearly convey trade ideas, market trends, and risk factors to both clients and internal teams
- Regulatory Awareness: Knowledge of SEC/FINRA trading regulations and compliance best practices
- High degree of integrity-- demonstrated ability and temperament to work with sensitive and confidential information
- Team player - have team-oriented experience and approach
- Commitment to excellence - perform duties at the highest level possible on a consistent basis
- 3 years of CMBS trading experience within a sell-side institution
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field
- Active FINRA Licenses- Series 7, 63
