What are the responsibilities and job description for the Foreign Language ESOL Instructor position at ODESSA COLLEGE?
General Summary
Ability to teach Spanish and ESOL courses, to successfully recruit students for both programs, and to coordinate program and related activities in the Foreign Language Department as needed.Specific Position Duties
- Teach assigned courses in the curriculum
- Teach face-to-face, web, hybrid, and other classes as needed, using Odessa College instructional technologies including Blackboard Collaborate.
- Teach CollegeNOW® and CollegeNOW® Academy (Dual Credit) classes.
- Lead and actively participate in student recruitment, advising, and retention activities as well as participate in various departmental and campus-wide committees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree with 18 or more graduate hours in Spanish from a regionally accredited institution; Demonstrated knowledge in the use of computers, iPads and other emerging technologies for instruction; Ability to teach all courses in the Spanish curriculum; Ability to teach students from a wide spectrum of ages and from diverse cultural and social backgrounds, including high school students who are enrolled in dual credit (CollegeNOW®) classes; and Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
