Duties and Responsibilities
Under the general direction and supervision of the CAD Manager, the Civil CAD designer performs CAD drafting and design duties to support the fabrication, manufacturing and installation of natural gas metering and pressure regulating stations and liquefied natural gas (LNG) and compressed natural gas (CNG) handling facilities.
Basic/Minimum Qualifications
- 5 years of relevant experience with specialization in preparing designs in the civil engineering field including site, grading, stormwater, and foundation plans.
- Associates degree or higher.
- Certificate program training with equivalent experience may be considered.
- Fully competent in all aspects of basic design software: AutoCAD.
- Fully competent in the utilization of 3D software packages: Civil 3D, Map 3D.
- Competency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Office 365.
- Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and manipulating various discipline drawings.
Essential Job Functions
The Designer is responsible for the following:
- Perform complex work with minimal guidelines and supervision. Apply engineering fundamentals, and recommended design procedures in preparing preliminary and through construction drawings for engineers’ approval.
- Produce high quality deliverables on schedule.
- Work independently on design projects.
- Work with engineers to recognize project design needs and coordinate and delegate accordingly.
- Recognize problems, and identify solutions to the design team.
- Aid in estimating sheet counts and time requirements for new projects.
- Participates in CAD groups, facilitates the use of national and company standards.
- Develop blocks and details.
- Assist in the training of developing designers.
- Serve as a technical resource for discipline specific software questions and answers.

- Work additional hours, as may be assigned.
- Work cooperatively with others.

Travel
Travel required within the U.S. as job responsibilities require (potentially up to approximately 5% of the time).
Compensation
Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
- Target budget is $75,000-$90,000 annually.
Remote Work
This position is a hybrid home/office reporting position. The desired candidate will live in commuting distance to Tewksbury, MA and be able to report to the office a couple days a week.
