What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cross-Dock Coordinator position at ODW Logistics?
Summary/Objective
The Cross-dock Coordinator (Columbus, OH) position is primarily located within an ODW LTS account management department assisting with both customer and carrier resources. Handling the day-to-day data entry roles along with the supervision of the multi-client warehouse floor are crucial for the success of this positions. Reporting directly to the team lead, the Cross-dock Coordinator role is of supreme importance to ensure ODW LTS serves both its customers and carriers needs at high levels.
Duties
- Physical WH floor checks for counting / confirming on-hand orders in cross-dock inventory if applicable on MCC duties only
- Responsible for understanding trailer efficiency on outbound loads. To report back what planning team expected to be loaded vs what was actually loaded (Based on different loading metrics- Pallets, Pallet Spots, Points)
- Floor supervision of FL driver (loader) if applicable on MCC duties only
- FL Driver assist/supervision with load locks/strapping during multi-stop loading if applicable on MCC duties
- Lead in the inbound Cross Dock shipment routing (Sweeps) and execution
- Ensure all paperwork, including but not limited to Bills of Lading, packing lists, etc., are accurate and provided to driver with clear and concise delivery instructions
- Responsible for documenting any exceptions for both the inbound receiving and outbound shipping processes, including but not limited to, notations on damaged freight, missing freight, pallet and position/floor space counts, etc.
- Responsible for carrier and cross-dock location identification data acquisition including but not limited to Transfer Locations, Trailer Numbers, Tractors Numbers, Door assignments, and Trailer Seal Numbers
- Assist with and occasionally operate the RF scanning process for freight movement records.
- Assist with Appointment scheduling in addition to finalize and release outbound loads
- Lead in problem resolution as it relates to inbound & outbound cross-dock shipping issues – missing freight, misrouted freight, returns, etc.
- Assist in AP Rec process for shipments managed through the cross-dock via pool distribution

Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or similar Degree level required
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, sit, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel as well as reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.
Travel
- Position is primarily at the ODW Logistics 1654 Williams Road Columbus, OH 43207 office location. If business demands any travel, Management will review with the employee in advance.
Other Information
- Full time position
- 42.5-hour work week (Monday – Friday only)
- Health, dental and supplementary insurance available on first day of the month after date of hire.
- 401K enrollment with company match. Available on the first day of the month after completing 90 calendar days of service.
- This position is not eligible for work from home
