Summary:
Provide academic advising, scheduling, program and curriculum support to assist students in developing college, career and life goals. Advise students and provide guidance in development and completion of each student’s personal graduation plan (PGP).
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Guide individual students to identify a course of study that promotes college and workforce readiness, career placement and advancement, and helps the student make the transition from secondary to post-secondary education. Assist in the review and revision of the master schedule and individual student schedules to achieve this responsibility.
- Review personal graduation plan (PGP) options with individual students and their parent or guardian and monitor progress toward attainment of goals. Help the student to access and make use of proven educational resources, innovative methods, and other interventions that will accelerate the learning process.
- Guide individual students to plan, monitor, and manage the student’s own educational and career development including providing information about post-secondary opportunities.
- Assist in developing, maintaining, and using information systems to maintain records and track progress on individual and group performance objectives and academic excellence indicators.
- Plan and/or promote programs which enhance the academic, social, and emotional growth of students.
- Implement programs related standardized tests, results, and assessment data to guide students in individual goal setting and planning.
- Implement programs related to college and career guidance related to scholarships, federal loans, and college applications.
- Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents.

Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Seeking or completion of Master’s degree in education from accredited university.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of career development
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Ability to present information in one-on-one, small group, and large group situations to students, parents, and district staff.
Experience:
Three years teaching experience
Salary : $63,794 - $91,865
