How You Will Make a Difference
The Chef is directly responsible for the for the menu and meal planning for food service operations. The Chef will assist and coordinate with the Food Service Manager in overseeing and leading the food service operations as well as collaborate with registered dietitians to create individualized meal plans based on clients’ nutritional needs.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provides consultation with appropriate staff in screening client applications for the treatment program(s) based on nutritional status and making appropriate recommendations accordingly.
- Assist Foodservice Manager with training of dietary care specialists.
- Assist in food safety training for other departments within the organization.
- Create menus, including special dietary needs of clients, in collaboration with dietitians and Director of Nutrition.
- Collaborate and assist Food Service Manager with purchasing, preparation, service, and cleaning of all client-related food activities.
- Prepare kitchens and staff for review by regulatory bodies and ensure operations are in compliance of all health and food-related standards.
- Facilitate or co-facilitate cooking group with dietitians and dietary care specialists.
- Responsible for proper documentation and charting and ensure that all documentation is completed in a timely manner.
- Approves menus and snacks for the clients and ensures that the quality and quantity of food is adequate and works closely with the dietary care specialist team in meal planning for client including food preferences and allergens.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications related to mission and population.

Qualifications
What We're Seeking
Associates Degree in Foodservice Management or equivalent experience in a Food Management position. 1 year clinical experience with eating disorders strongly preferred; 1 plus years’ experience in health-care setting.
Other Requirements
Position requires incumbent to have a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance.
