How You will Contribute
The Milieu Supervisor provides training, scheduling, and immediate supervision for the Recovery Care Specialist team at their designated facility. Position collaborates with the Operations Manager to ensure adequate staffing is maintained, ensuring a high level of client safety and customer service. The Milieu Supervisor provides support for staff and clients in various clinical, nutritional and administrative activities to ensure optimal client outcome. Serves as a trainer and mentor to the Recovery Care Specialists, providing coaching for continuous quality improvement. Demonstrate a desire and willingness to model the Aster Springs mission within job responsibilities and uphold the mission within interactions with others.
Relationships and Contacts
Within the organization: Maintains frequent and close working relationships with team members throughout all levels of the facility.
Outside the organization: Initiates and maintains professional therapeutic engagement with clients and families. May initiate and maintain working relationships with clinical providers, referral partners and vendors as needed and directed.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provides immediate supervision for Recovery Care Specialists in the oversite of clients throughout their treatment program, ensuring client safety and a high level of customer service.
- Participates in the hiring process.
- Provides onboarding training, coaching, mentoring and performance management activities.
- Creates and maintains team schedules ensuring adequate staffing levels at all times.
- Promotes client involvement in the treatment program; supports clients throughout their treatment journey.
- Performs routine forms of daily client care while assisting and ensuring timely and effective clinical activities, charting and orientation completion.
- Collaborates with the Clinical Director to ensure appropriate emotional support is provided to clients.
- Demonstrates the ability to lead group(s) and mentors Recovery Care Specialists in these efforts.
- Communicates pertinent client information to the Clinical team in a timely manner.
- Maintains timely and clinically appropriate documentation, ensures Recovery Care Specialists are trained in and adhere to documentation processes.
- Ensures Recovery Care Specialists are participating and eating meals with the clients, providing role modeling health food and body image behaviors.
- Observes client behavior during and after meals.
- Mentors the Lead Recovery Care Specialists with the same.
- Assists with and leads in the timely completion of administrative duties, including but not limited to checklists, answering phones, mail distribution, scheduling.
- Represents the Recovery Care Specialist team in treatment team meetings, leadership meetings, and other meetings as needed.
- Assists with and leads in the timely completion of housekeeping duties, including cleaning of facilities (i.e. taking out trash, loading and unloading dishwasher, laundry, running errands and other duties as assigned).
- Leads and facilitates meetings with the Recovery Care Specialists throughout the year and records minutes.
- Conducts tours for clients, family members, students, visitors, as requested.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in training and educational opportunities.
Qualifications
What We're Seeking
Requires 2 years of experience working in a behavioral health setting, preferably with eating disorders. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in combined education and experience preferred.
Other Requirements
- Position requires incumbent to have a valid driver’s license, and acceptable driving record.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification, or willingness to complete within the first 30 days of employment
