Position Summary

  • Supervise clients in Phase 2 at STR
  • Ensure clients abide by program schedule and clinical requirements
  • Ensure the health and safety of all clients
  • Coordinate and support psycho-educational groups in nighttime IOP
  • Ensure the cleanliness and safety of all Phase 2 Housing
  • Mentor and support clients in a professional manner
  • Encourage and support meaningful community integration

Relationships and Contacts

Within the organization: Establish and maintain productive working relationships with peers and accounting team members throughout Steps to Recovery and affiliated facilities.

 

Outside the organization: Establish and maintain productive working relationships with third party vendors, as necessary.

Position Responsibilities

  1. Helping clients by providing information, services, resources, and assistance in regard to food stamps, employment, 12 step recovery community, alternative housing, and Psych supports.
  2. Maintaining a safe and secure environment.
  3. Support clients to travel when necessary. Provide transportation for Phase 2 shuttle bus.
  4. Support clients to engage in treatment plans and housing support plans.
  5. Facilitate weekly Life Skills workshop to promote community integration, employment, and permanent housing options.
  6. Provide direct support on Saturdays to monitor and assist with a deep cleaning of the residence as well as supporting clients to a local 12-step meeting
  7. Support fire safety and physical wellness of clients.
  8. Assist in client admission and orientation to programming as possible and necessary.
  9. Communicate and assist in crisis situations involving unsafe situations. EG clients not getting along, unapproved visitors, relapses, APAs, etc.
  10. Assist in client discharges as possible and necessary.
  11. Prepare, facilitate and/or co-facilitate Psycho-Educational Groups as scheduled.
  12. Engage in appropriate correspondence with clients loved ones and families as necessary for housing/visitation purposes.
  13. Assist in cleanliness and organization of residences as necessary.
  14. Complete thorough residence checks for safety and cleanliness at a minimum of twice per week and report issues or concerns to supervisor
  15. Complete observed Urinalysis Screening of clients when scheduled and necessary.
  16. Assist in coordinating client crisis, relapse, elopement, or APA.
  17. Mentor and support house manager in creating community, completing room checks, chore checks, and provide recommendations and feedback to house manager as necessary
  18. Performs other duties as assigned.
  19. Build and maintain relationships with clients and family members in order to engage and support their goals and treatment plan needs while in Phase Two
  20. Support engagement and participation in community resources and local supports
  21. Support Phase 3 clients with transport, 12 step integration, and psych supports

 

Qualifications


Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of high school Diploma, Bachelors degree preferred
  • Must have or be involved in a program to achieve Certification as a CRS
  • 1 Year experience in the human service field providing direct support/ Experience in the substance abuse field preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year Experience facilitating psycho educational groups
  • Knowledge of 12 step recovery programs and recovery supports in the community
  • Minimum of 1 year Experience supporting case management for persons in early recovery EG Food stamps finding housing, employment, legal support, medical/psych support
  • Knowledge and experience with basic Microsoft software packages
  • Drivers License and at least 5 years of driving experience
  • Ability to physically lift up to 15 pounds

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to communicate with peers/general public, clients and/or vendors
  • Tolerant to various noise levels: noise level in the work environment varies may be very quiet to moderate
  • Job performance will require the ability to move throughout the building as well as sit or remain stationary for extended periods of time
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to talk or hear, sit, stand, walk, reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch
