What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Based Counselor (Qualified Mental Health Professional) position at Odyssey Community Services, Inc.?
Seeking highly motivated applicants ready to make a positive difference in peoples’ lives with great counseling, treatment planning, and documentation skills. We serve a wide population of children, adults, and families with at-risk issues including mental disorders, behavioral issues, emotional problems, and substance abuse. We aim to do everything we can to keep family systems intact by providing structured interventions and advocacy, providing help in addressing whatever individual needs of clients may be.
Counselor positions are available for Intensive In-Home, Mental Health Skill-building, and Day Treatment (children and adults) programs. Hourly and salaried positions available. We are looking for individuals who desire full time employment, consistently maintaining a full caseload of clients (4-5).
Duties and responsibilities:
--Providing direct counseling services to clients: including individual, family, children, and adults; with varying mental disorders and needs
--Assessing needs, developing treatment plans, and completing daily progress notes that accurately reflect your client’ responses to your structured interventions and progress toward treatment goals
--Working closely with clinical supervisor to develop appropriate and effective therapeutic interventions for your clients
Qualifications:
--One year of experience in mental health counseling with individuals with a diagnosis of mental illness
--Bachelor’s Degree **preferably in a human services field-- if in an unrelated field, candidate must have at least 15 semester credit hours in a human services field and 3 years of experience in mental health counseling
**Substance abuse counseling experience and certifications preferred
**Group facilitation counseling experience preferred
