We seek a skilled and detail-oriented Crop Insurance Professional to aid in the execution of our Crop Sales Strategies. As a Sales Specialist, you will collaborate with and encourage the Crop Sales Team in their various territories to achieve their individual and team sales goals. You will play an integral role in supporting the Sales Team through in-field visits with agents, as well as delivering cutting-edge technology and products to the marketplace. Your expertise will be essential in risk assessment, building go-to-market strategies, and deploying Hudson's suite of products to the marketplace alongside our dedicated Sales Team. The ideal candidate will understand agricultural practices, agency relationship management, insurance products, marketing campaign, and risk assessment methodologies.
This position will play an integral part in the future of Hudson Crop as we continue to develop our market share distribution, seek new agency partners, develop product retention tools, and deploy Crop Sales Strategies in the various Sales Regions across the country. This position will require a unique skillset that combines technical understanding, excellent communication skills, a willingness to listen to the needs of our customers, and an understanding of when to lean in to gain that extra sale.
Responsibilities:
- Sales Collaboration: Visits independent agents with Sales Team to market Hudson products and/or services to achieve significant account growth objectives.
- Product Analysis: Understand RMA policies and their impact on Underwriting results. Analyze competitor product offerings to determine their market share and direction.
- Deploy Marketing Campaigns: Build, coordinate, and deliver Go-To Market campaigns to align with national, regional, or state level strategies.
- Data Analysis: Utilize historical data, actuarial tables, and industry trends to aid Sales Team in sales proposal development for their customers and territories.
- Client Communication: Collaborate with clients to gather additional information, clarify policy terms, and address inquiries regarding coverage and processes.
- Sales Strategies: Organize with Regional Sales Directors on the construction of sales strategies to help each Regional Sales Team meet their sales objectives.
- Sales Enablement: Prepare underwriting reports, product decision tools, customer retention aids, and any other means to aid Sales Team in overall sales development.
- Technology Implementation: Stay up-to-date with agricultural technology advancements, genetic enhancements, data processing improvements and be comfortable communicating current company-led technology initiatives to clients.
- Product and Strategy Demonstration: Provide online and in-person training to Sales Staff and agent partners on the various strategies, products, and technology platforms available. Gather and report back real-time field-level feedback to the organization.
- Cross Department Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including claims, processing, and operations, to achieve company goals and provide a seamless customer experience.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Science, Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are a plus.
- Proven experience as a Crop Insurance Sales Professional or similar role in the insurance industry, with a strong track record of sales development and decision-making.
- Comprehensive knowledge of crop types, farming practices, and agricultural risk factors. Familiarity with crop insurance policies a plus.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to assess situations and make real-time decisions based on Underwriting Guidelines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with agents, stakeholders, and team members; both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office; especially Power BI, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks efficiently. Self-starter mindset highly sought for this position.
- Travel requirement of 50% regionally, as needed.
