MAJOR FUNCTIONS:
The Deputy Director of Operations is responsible for oversight of job performance, guidance and direct supervision of all facility maintenance, food service, and facility coverage staff. They are responsible for monitoring the safety and security of the facility, overall cleanliness and maintenance of the facility and to ensure compliance with safety and physical plant standards.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assign tasks; provide instructions and guidelines, monitor performance and review work for all operations staff.
- Supervise interior and exterior care and maintenance of the facility, directing resources according to need.
- Plan facility operations within budget, institute cost saving measures and take responsibility for expenditures within facility's operating costs. Confer with financial staff on facility budget.
- Perform as bursar and maintain petty cash, WAM, and MetroCard banks, in accordance with program policies and regulatory standards, and perform regular reconciliations.
- Maintain inventory and order all housekeeping, maintenance and food service supplies.
- Participate in Risk Management meetings and Quality Assurance Reviews.
- Attend all appropriate trainings, meetings and case conferences as determined by Program Director.
- Conduct and document monthly Fire and Opioid Overdose Rescue Drills.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with all HRA requirements.
- Ensure necessary facility staff receives First Aid, CPR and Certificate of Fitness training as required by regulations.
- Collaborate with Director of Food Service and Director of Maintenance, Senior Driver to maintain to provide oversight of HVAC, disaster plans, food service policies, transportation, as it pertains to specific facility.
- Provides and implements formal orientation plan to newly hired directly subordinate staff.
- Assure all directly subordinate staff is adequately trained.
- Prepare all proposals and reports as needed.
- Provide direct supervision for subordinate staff as per Odyssey House policies.
- Prepare written annual evaluations on staff under his/her supervision.
- Lead quality management activities in collaboration with Program Director.
- Provide oversight of facility transportation system (if applicable).
- Other relevant duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma/G.E.D. required and two (2) years’ experience working within a human service setting required.
- One (1) year of experience delivering supervision preferred
- CASAC preferred.
- Experience in building management including fire alarm, HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.
- Experience in residential facilities management including food services preferred.
- Proficiency with computer operation (Microsoft Word, Excel, Electronic Health Record and Outlook programs).
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
- This position will require availability as needed including on call responsibilities.
