Odyssey House is seeking a Part-Time licensed therapist for our criminal justice program at Oxbow Jail. This position is located inside the jail facilities and involves working with individuals who are incarcerated.

Job Location: Salt Lake City - Salt Lake County Jail, Adult Detention and Programs Division

Pay: $32.00 - $34.00/hourly (DOE)

Schedule: 25 hours (TBD)

DESCRIPTION:

Odyssey House (Criminal Justice Services) is hiring a full-time licensed therapist to join our family of experienced staff who make our justice-served treatment program unique and successful. The Odyssey House Criminal Justice Program is facilitated in the Salt Lake County Jail, dedicated to helping individuals reclaim their lives through effective substance use treatment, prevention, and mental health referral services.

Position Responsibilities

• Must be able to pass Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office BCI
• Work with minimum security populations within the Salt Lake County Jail
• Maintain appropriate boundaries and communication with jail staff as outlined in Salt Lake County conduct training.
• Appropriately diagnose mental health and substance-related conditions using the DSM 5
• Appropriately assess client needs using the American Society of Addiction Medicine Patient Placement Criteria.
• Develop an effective level of rapport with clients while maintaining healthy boundaries.
• Complete thorough and effective assessments in the required time frame.
• Provide documentation to support coordination of client mental health evaluations and other wrap-around services to provide effective care.
• Utilize motivational and evidence-based techniques to retain and support clients during assessments.
• Complete assessments within the appropriate client management system within 24 hours.
• Accurately document services using ASAM Dimensional Analysis format, including all required elements
• Provide and collaborate clinical recommendations and concerns with the clinical team appropriately as indicated.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Licensure / Education / Skills / Prior Experience Required:

• Licensed Mental Health Professional, including - CSW, LCSW, ACMHC, LCMHC, MFTI. If working with children or vulnerable adult populations, you must pass a criminal background check.
• Graduate degree in the mental health field.
• First Aid and CPR Certification (provided at Odyssey House).
• Must comply with annual TB screenings and COVID-19 tests and immunization, as well as yearly influenza vaccinations.
• Must meet employment eligibility.
• Willingness and ability to pass a criminal background check from the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Department
• Willingness to work with an incarcerated population
