Odyssey House is seeking a Full-Time Residential Psych Medical Assistant to join our team!

Location: Salt Lake City
Compensation: $20.00/hourly
Schedule: Monday - Friday

Position Responsibilities:
- Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height.
- Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician.
- Record patients’ medical history, vital statistics, and information such as test results in medical records.
- Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing.
- Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, and physicians’ instructions to patients.
- Process drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.
- Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
- Schedule appointments for patients.
- Create and log in patients arriving at the office or clinic.
- Inventory and order medical, lab, and office supplies and equipment.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and sample analyses.
- Able to work weekends/evenings as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

Licensure / Education / Prior Experience / Skills Required:
- Certified Medical Assistant (or experienced Medical Assistant)
- Willingness and ability to pass a criminal background check
- First Aid and CPR Certification (available at Odyssey House)
- Must comply with annual TB tests and Flu immunization (and others as required).
- Must meet employment eligibility
- Must be able to work variable shifts as needed

Physical Demands of the Job: Ability to lift up to 15 lbs., drive (or adequate alternate transportation), sit for prolonged periods, and perform light to moderate physical activity at times. Able to passively restrain residents without likely injury to self due to existing medical condition.
