About The Job
The position of CDL-B Driver will have primary responsibility of performing journeyman level duties in the maintenance and repair of gas, diesel, and propane engines and other mechanical equipment primarily used in the facility. You will mainly be diagnosing and repairing, diesel truck/tractors, flat bed trailers, and reefers.

About The Job
The position of CDL-B Driver will have primary responsibility of performing journeyman level duties in the maintenance and repair of gas, diesel, and propane engines and other mechanical equipment primarily used in the facility. You will mainly be diagnosing and repairing, diesel truck/tractors, flat bed trailers, and reefers.
Work Schedule
- Monday through Friday
- Shift hours 7:00am – 5:00pm
- Saturday work and/or overtime may be required during seasonal peak time
- Operates vehicles in compliance with local and state traffic codes/laws and company procedures.
- Read and understand traffic signs and controls in accordance with FHWA regulations.
- Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections on all vehicles assigned to operate and ensures any necessary repairs are completed according to state and federal regulations prior to arriving and/or leaving the terminal.
- Track and maintain hours of service logs.
- Ensures load is properly stowed and secured to prevent shifting or damage while in transit to the delivery location.
- Examines shipping documents to verify all shipments loaded and is properly segregated and/or separated.
- Uses proper equipment for safe loading and/or unloading.
- Review inbound freight documents and unload container/truck/trailer/rail.
- Visually inspect, count and weigh freight as required and report damaged freight, differences in counts and/or weights.
- Ensure all freight is staged at its proper place in the warehouse, paperwork, exceptions and special information is properly given to other warehouse and/or office personnel as required to set up for the next handling process.
- Load container/truck/trailer/rail to be transported on.
- Ensure load records required, are made and turned in to the proper persons for file record-keeping.
- Operate forklift, pallet walker, hand dolly, chain saws, electrical and non-electrical hand tool, shrink wrap machine, and other common hand tools.
- Maintains warehouse, outside tar area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
- Comply with safety policies with the understanding that safety is the top priority.
- All other duties and projects as assigned.

Required
- Minimum of 1 year driving of assigned trucks in a local environment
- Valid Alaska Class B license
- Valid Medical Card
- Must possess a good driving record
- Must be reliable and flexible with schedule
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- By time of hire, be registered with the US DOT Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
