REPORTS TO: Director of Housekeeping
Summary
Responsible for laundering all resort linens, keeping clean and organized shelves, and maintaining interdepartmental lines of communication, as well as supervising and training in new Laundry Attendants.
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
- Previous laundering related experience beneficial
- Previous supervisory work beneficial
- Spot clean heavily soiled items, while following all safety protocols
- Add chemicals to washers to aid in cleaning.
- Operate washing machines and dryers, selecting correct settings for each load.
- Load and unload laundry into and out of commercial washers and dryers.
- Fold and sort cleaned laundry, creating sets and bagging and labeling necessary items.
- Cut unsalvageable towels into rags.
- Empty dust traps from dryers.
- Help maintain a clean work area, organized shelves, and break room.
- Aid in taking inventory.
- Supervise Laundry Attendants to make sure they are working efficiently and effectively
- Train new Laundry Attendants
- Maintains inventory and gives management the orders for needed supplies
- Is responsible for the laundry schedule
- Report any washer/ dryer maintenance issues
- May be asked to help clean break room bathrooms
- May be asked to help strip rooms
- All other duties as assigned.
EXPECTATIONS:
- Foster positive working relationships and effective communication across all departments.
- Employees must satisfactorily perform all essential duties, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
- Consistently provide exceptional guest service and maintain a reliable attendance record.
- Promptly report any issues to housekeeping management.
- Adhere to all rules and policies outlined in the employee handbook.
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- See in color; adjust focus to include close, distance, depth, and peripheral vision
- Stand; walk; sit; kneel; lift; push; pull; reach with arms and hands; move objects weighing up to forty (40) pounds.
- The scheduled end of the shift is subject to change, and housekeeping/laundry staff may be required to leave early or stay late as needed.
