Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated High School Social Studies Teacher to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and the ability to inspire students to reach their full potential, in strong collaboration with the school community.

Duties:
- Develop and implement engaging lessons that adhere to our Odyssey School Values of creativity, community, authenticity and excellency
- Utilize the larger Asheville community to enhance classroom instruction
- Provide academic advising and support to students
- Foster a positive, organized, and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning
- Work collaboratively amongst the High School Team to deliver a holistic learning environment for students

Experience:

-Previous education or experience must include one or a combination of the following:

  • (1) Bachelor’s degree in Education, History, Political Science, or related field
  • (2) Expertise in the relevant subject area
  • (3) 2 years, or more, of previous experience in teaching or other educational fields

-Current CPR Certification is preferred

-An up-to-date Teaching License is preferred

-Relevant experience working with students, preferably at the High School level, is preferred
