Position Summary :
Odyssey Systems has an exciting new opportunity providing Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) supporting the US Space Force mission to defend National Security Interests in Space as a Senior SDA Financial Planner / Analyst supporting the Joint Task Force Space Defense, Space Systems Command, Joint Commercial Operations Center (JCO). This position provides Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) support moving science and technology efforts to real-world execution.
Work is primarily virtual with occasional in person work performed at 555 East Pikes Peak Rd, 2424 Garden of the Gods Rd, and other locations in Colorado Springs, CO.

The Joint Task Force Space Defense Joint Commercial Operations Center (USSF SSC) executes system acquisition, modernization, and sustainment for ground- and space-based SDA sensors and command and control (C2) systems. Activities include acquisition program management, system, and subsystem engineering, maintenance and supply support, and fielding.
Odyssey Systems provides support to the Government in seven areas : Data Acquisitions, Product Testing, Product Support, Sustainment Management, User Interface Design, Engineering, and Integration. These tasks are executed laterally with USSF SSC, development contractors and with SDA stakeholders.
Responsibilities :
An A&AS contractor is a knowledgeable and trusted advisor to the Government. As a Senior SDA Financial Planner / Analyst , you will perform a wide range of financial management, accounting, and internal control tasks to support the organization's financial operations. Duties include, but are not limited to :
- Conducting research, delivering program budget execution reviews, and authoring senior-level memos and position papers on a variety of technical / procedural / policy financial topics as required
- Assist with preparing and delivering monthly budget execution status of funds reports, provide weekly budget summaries regarding program budget taskers and other budget-related activities and provide weekly summary reports on the status of budget execution activities. These reports shall include budget execution status report narratives, issues, and recommendations as well as schedules.
- Facilitating and supporting organizational Program Control functions; conducting analysis of program spending and component requirements as required to develop and maintain program-specific reporting and real-time decision tools
- Preparing, coordinating and transmitting funding documents from multiple funding streams and appropriations to support program efforts across numerous partner organizations
- Track all budget requests, supporting documents, reports, and responses in approved repositories, such as Microsoft SharePoint, internal shared drives, and Microsoft Teams.
- Monitoring major program-level contracts and provide data and / or recommendations to support fiscal-oriented decisions
- Establish obligation and expenditure plans for active year appropriations, monitor execution throughout the fiscal year, and provide analysis at the requirement, office, sub-project, project or appropriation level, as required
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of budget execution documents, develop and maintain financial records, interact with other government agencies, prepare financial documents, support financial audits, track and forecast spending and budget reporting
- Examine financial management functions to ensure internal accounting systems and administrative controls are sufficient to confirm that obligations and disbursements comply with applicable laws and that funds are safeguarded against fraud, waste, and abuse
- Serve as the principal financial systems administrator, controlling system access forms, proper documentation, training certificates, and appointment forms for all internal and external financial systems users
- Research, develop, modify, and maintain qualitative and quantitative standards for use in evaluating and monitoring financial and accounting performance indicators
- Coordinate with various stakeholders, including the United States Space Force SSC / Financial Management, and Defense Finance Accounting Service on matters related to finance policies, procedures, and operations
- Develop solutions and prepare reports and summary cost data for internal control and efficient operations while maintaining control of all resources
- Provide technical assistance and advice to staff, directors, and other interested parties on financial management matters
- Travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations upon government direction
- Other duties as required / requested by the Government and within the scope of the S3 contract
Qualifications :
Clearance : Able to obtain DoD Secret clearance
Education : Bachelors in finance, accounting, auditing, or a related field
Years of Experience : 4 years of experience in Air Force / Space Force DoD Planning, Programming, Budget, Execution (PPBE)
