Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly, organized and guest-focused Maitre d' to join our dynamic team at Olivia's Restaurant. The ideal candidate will oversee the entire front-of-the-house operation in the restaurant, including managing reservations, seating guests and ensuring a positive dining experience, while also supervising staff and maintaining the restaurant's ambiance and standards of service.
Olivia's is a 60-seat upscale, neighborhood restaurant & bar with a from-scratch kitchen highlighting fine coastal cuisine, classically made craft cocktails (sometimes with a twist) with an emphasis on thoughtful service and unwavering hospitality.

Key Responsibilities of the Maitre' d
Guest Relations:
Welcoming guests, ascertaining their dining preferences, and ensuring a positive first impression.
Managing reservations and seating, including accommodating special requests and managing waitlists.
Directing diners to their tables or the bar, providing menus, and answering questions about the menu and specials.
Responding to guest requests and concerns promptly and efficiently.
Ensuring diners have a pleasant, welcoming, and memorable dining experience.
Staff Supervision and Training:
Supervising and coordinating the work of servers, bussers, and other front-of-house staff.
Training new staff on service standards and procedures.
Holding pre-service briefings with staff to ensure smooth operation.
Restaurant Operations:
Maintaining and updating the seating chart, ensuring efficient table flow.
Coordinating with the kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service and address any issues that arise.
Managing the opening and closing of the restaurant, ensuring the dining room is properly set and maintained.
Controlling the ambiance of the restaurant, including temperature, music volume, and lighting.
Other Duties:
Liaising with kitchen staff about specials and menu changes.
Ensuring tables are set correctly.
Offering and serving drinks to guests.
Handling complaints and resolving issues to ensure guest satisfaction.
May be involved in menu development or wine selection.
May be responsible for coordinating events or banquets.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 24 per week
