Position Title: Quality Manager

Position Summary: The Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing and improving the quality of materials, components, and finished products. This role involves establishing and maintaining policies, procedures, and quality programs in alignment with organizational goals. The Quality Manager works collaboratively across departments to identify and address quality-related challenges, ensuring the organization’s commitment to excellence.
Typical hours: Monday-Thursday 7 am- 4:30 pm, Friday 7 am - 11 am.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Management Systems:
- Develop and maintain quality assurance systems to meet organizational objectives.
- Implement and refine inspection methods and testing protocols.
- Monitor and analyze quality costs and other relevant data.
- Document and continuously improve internal processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
Process Improvement:
- Develop and execute corrective action plans.
- Apply statistical methods to monitor and control processes.
- Conduct root cause analyses and implement long-term solutions for recurring quality issues.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and customer service teams to resolve issues.
- Act as a liaison with suppliers and customers to ensure mutual quality standards are met.
- Provide direction and mentorship to quality personnel.
Equipment and Safety:
- Ensure all equipment used for quality assurance is maintained in good working order.
- Adhere to preventive maintenance schedules and recommend upgrades when necessary.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Training and Compliance:
- Conduct training sessions on quality standards, procedures, and tools.
- Stay informed of industry standards such as ISO 9001 and implement best practices accordingly.
- Ensure all activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality control or a related role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and process control methodologies.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and manual dexterity for handling equipment.
- Use of personal protective equipment as required by company policy.
Other Requirements:
