POSITION SUMMARY
The Process Engineer is responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes, improving efficiency, and ensuring product quality.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze existing manufacturing processes and identify areas for improvement in quality, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop and implement innovative solutions to enhance process performance, including the design and implementation of new equipment, tools, or methodologies.
- Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Conduct experiments, data analysis, and statistical evaluations to optimize process parameters and ensure product quality meets or exceeds specifications.
- Participate in the development of process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions to ensure consistency and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical support for production activities, including equipment setup, operation, and maintenance.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in process engineering to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support new product development and scale-up activities by providing technical expertise and conducting feasibility studies.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to evaluate new technologies, materials, and equipment for potential integration into manufacturing processes.
- Contribute to cross-functional projects aimed at improving overall operational efficiency, safety, and sustainability.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work involves lifting materials and product up to 25 pounds.
- Work involves standing, walking, and lifting during work day
- Exposed to any number of elements but with none present to the extent of being disagreeable or hazardous.
- Noise level is normal for a manufacturing environment.
Requirements
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field required
- 6 months-2 years’ experience within a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, troubleshoot problems, and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated project management abilities, including the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Knowledge of process optimization techniques, Lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and statistical analysis.
- Basic understanding of quality management systems, i.e., ISO standards.
- Proactive mindset with a strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as contribute effectively in a team environment.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as project demands require.
- Experience with CAD software
- Experience with 3D printing a plus
