POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for the Quality Control systems and procedures being applied to each part produced; will also ensure the goals of continuous production, quality product, and correct customer specifications are achieved.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement and apply current quality methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation, as required.
- Ensure orders meet customer needs and expectations; reject orders that do not fulfill customer needs and expectations.
- Verify new parts or materials to print by using various measurement devices.
- Conduct internal quality inspections on a regular basis to ensure product meets quality standards of OEM and the customer.
- Ensure that all required process operations have been performed on the product being inspected.
- Serve as point of contact on the shift for quality-related issues and escalate concerns as necessary to Senior Quality Technician and Quality Manager.
- Recommend and implement changes in work procedures, work conditions, and equipment to increase efficiency and safety.
- Document information regarding nonconformance of products.
- Segregate Non-Conforming Material from usable material and provide causes and concerns to Operations and Engineering management.
- Assist in audits, certifications, and customer quality inquiries as needed.
- Maintain test equipment calibration, calibration records, and inventory.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of the ISO 9001 procedures and work instructions to obtain and retain ISO 9001 Certification.
- Train employees on existing or new quality control procedures.
- Communicate quality standards and expectations clearly across departments.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain team to address quality concerns.
- Any other tasks as required by the department or position
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
- Work involves standing, walking, and lifting during shift schedule.
- Exposed to any number of elements, but with none present to the extent of being disagreeable or hazardous.
- Noise level is normal for a manufacturing environment.
Requirements
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate or Technical degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Quality Control within a manufacturing environment required.
- Results driven and goal oriented with ability to work independently with minimal direction from executive team.
- Advanced understanding of Inspection and Quality Control methods, techniques, and equipment.
- Proficient in quality management software and Microsoft Office.
- ISO 9001 experience and understanding of requirements a plus.
- Ability to lead and mentor team members effectively.
- Strong communications and interpersonal skills at all levels of the organization.
