What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Repair Technician position at Oerlikon?
We are looking for a Mechanical Repair Technician for our Charlotte, NC facility. In this role you will join an established team working in an air-conditioned workshop repairing components and assemblies on German high-tech textile machinery. You will learn to operate and perform daily repairs in a self-directed capacity on projects from start to finish. Quality and precision are the skill sets that we desire most. This is a M-F first schedule with standard shifts.

Your Responsibilities:
To repair mechanical items in a timely manner, including:
- Chucks
- Blowers
- Godets
- Pumps
- Motors
- Rolls
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Complete work orders for all repairs
- Assist in pulling and stocking inventory as needed
- Operate forklift occasionally (In-house training and certification program if needed)
- Pull parts and manage stock levels for above repairs
Equipment to be used:
- Hand tools including wrenches, hammers and screw drivers
- Inspection equipment including calibers, gauges, test stands Hydraulic press
- Drills
- Grinders
- Pallet jacks and forklift
Your Profile:
- You have a high school diploma, associate's degree, or equivalent military experience.
- You will have a mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting and repairing mechanical assemblies
- You've had previous mechanical repair experience (preferred)
- You are reliable, self-motivated, willing to learn, able to self-direct.
- You have a familiarity of shop machines such as bench grinder, lathe, milling machine, hand tools, soldering / de-soldering iron, drill press, multi-meter, arbor press, hydraulic press and pneumatic screwdriver
- Must be able to lift 40lbs.
- You can communicate effectively and at different levels with internal and external customers and employees
- You can speak, read, and write English fluently
- You know analog and digital electronic circuits and the ability to troubleshoot to component level on circuit boards.
