Position Overview
The Vice President of Operations will serve as a strategic partner and report to the President & COO, playing a critical role in driving key company initiatives, managing cross-functional projects, and ensuring operational alignment across the organization. This individual will provide high-level strategic support, enhance decision-making processes, manage continuous improvement projects, and lead special projects that drive efficiency, growth, and profitability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee and drive execution of high-impact projects and company-wide initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Develop and implement project plans, tracking key milestones, deliverables, and KPIs to ensure successful outcomes.
- Work closely with department leaders to coordinate and manage cross-functional initiatives.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Analyze business performance data to provide insights and recommendations to the Executive Leadership Team.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and briefings for executive leadership and board meetings.
- Represent the President & COO in meetings and discussions, ensuring follow-through on critical action items.
- Serve as a key liaison between the executive team, department heads, and external stakeholders.
- Facilitate executive-level communication, ensuring clarity and alignment across all business units.
- Lead internal communication efforts to reinforce company priorities, initiatives, and culture.
- Collaborate with IT to integrate AI-driven predictive analytics and automation to improve decision-making and streamline operations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service reliability and cost-effectiveness.
- Lead and manage diligence and integration streams in merger and acquisition opportunities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required/Preferred Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Operations, or a related field
- 5 years of experience in a strategic, project management, or operations leadership role, preferably in fuel distribution, logistics, or a related industry.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale projects and drive business initiatives from concept to completion.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working closely with executive leadership and managing confidential information with discretion.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong computer skills with advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Working Environment and Physical Demands
This position operates in a fast-paced, professional environment and involves frequent travel. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones. While performing duties of this job, you will be regularly required to talk, read, hear, sit, stand, bend as necessary, and use your hands to type.
