Desirable Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in desktop support, systems administration, or IT management roles, with a focus on desktop configuration and management.
- Experience in managing desktop environments in a corporate or enterprise setting.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing IT projects, particularly in desktop deployment and configuration.
- Demonstrated understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) as they pertain to desktop environments.
- Proficiency in scripting languages, such as PowerShell to automate tasks and improve efficiency in desktop management.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices, patch management, and compliance standards.
- Knowledge of working with third-party vendors and service providers for hardware and software procurement.
- Experience with change management and deployment best practices.
- Knowledge of enterprise infrastructure and architecture.

Your Expertise
- Expertise in systems, such as Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM aka SCCM) and Microsoft Intune for managing desktop and laptop environments.
- Knowledge of other endpoint management solutions, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and automation tools.
- In-depth understanding of desktop operating systems, particularly Windows and MacOS, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with various software applications and their deployment in enterprise environments.
- Strong knowledge of security protocols and practices to ensure desktops are protected against vulnerabilities.
- Expertise in managing system updates, patches, and antivirus solutions.
- Understanding of network configuration and protocols to ensure seamless connectivity for desktop systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot network issues affecting desktop performance.
- Skills in diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, with a focus on minimizing downtime and maintaining productivity.
- Experience in using helpdesk and ticketing systems to manage user incidents and support requests.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including planning, coordinating, and executing desktop deployment initiatives.
- Familiarity with IT project management methodologies and best practices.
- Expertise in creating and maintaining documentation for desktop configurations, procedures, and policies to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Ability to develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for desktop management practices.
- Strong communication skills to provide technical support to end users and guide them on desktop usage best practices.
- Experience in training staff on new technologies and systems.
Your Responsibilities
- Oversee the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of desktop and laptop systems across the organization.
- Utilize MECM/SCCM and Intune for software distribution, patch management, and system updates to ensure all devices are secure and up to date.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and documentation for desktop configurations and deployments.
- Collaborate with IT teams to assess and implement new technologies and solutions to improve desktop management practices.
- Monitor and respond to incidents related to desktop systems, ensuring timely resolution of issues and minimizing downtime.
- Conduct regular audits of desktop configurations to ensure compliance with security policies and standards.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users on desktop-related issues and software applications.
- Provide second level technical support to junior staff.
- Manage user profiles, settings, and permissions to ensure appropriate access and functionality.
- Train and mentor junior IT staff on desktop configuration best practices and tools.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies related to desktop management and security.
