SUMMARY:
The Mayor’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is the City government's chief financial agency. OMB's staff of analysts and experts assembles and oversees the Mayor’s expense and capital budgets, which fund the services and activities of approximately 90 City agencies and entities.
The Miscellaneous Revenue Unit forecasts and monitors all sources of revenue received by more than 60 City agencies with the exception of taxes and grants. There are three major groupings of Miscellaneous Revenue: Cost-based Charges (Licenses, Permits, and Charges for Services); Water and Sewer revenues; and Other Income (Interest Income, Franchises, Rental Income, Fines, and Miscellaneous). The Task Force also initiates and manages many projects designed to increase revenue and improve revenue-related operations.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Fee Database Development: Most fees charged by the City are backed by a user fee analysis approved by OMB. However, there is currently no centralized database tracking all active fees. The intern will be responsible for creating this database which will involve researching key details such as legislative authority, implementation dates, and the agencies responsible for administering each fee. Report Management & Revenue Monitoring: In addition to the database project, the intern will gain hands-on experience with core analyst responsibilities. This will include updating regular reports, tracking revenue streams, and assisting with data analysis to support decision-making.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills are also important for documenting findings clearly and effectively.
