Representative Seth Magaziner (RI-02) seeks a District Director in his Warwick, RI office for duties including but not limited to:
- Ensuring that district office strategies and operating plans align with the Member’s strategic vision and goals;
- Assigning all District Office work assignments to staff and ensuring deadlines are met and work product is high quality;
- Acting as the primary liaison with senior leaders of federal, state, and local government entities and non-governmental entities and stakeholders for the Member and constituents;
- Coordinating closely with D.C. staff to support the overall strategic plan for the Member;
- Facilitating communication and information sharing between the Member’s district office and D.C. office;
- Maintaining comprehensive knowledge of the political and governmental situation in RI;
- Regularly communicating key RI events and information to the Member and senior staff;
- Maintaining comprehensive knowledge of the personalities and communities in RI;
- Regularly communicating updates to the Member;
- Maintaining comprehensive knowledge of community events, holidays and activities;
- Working with the district team to ensure the office appropriately attends, highlights and publicizes important occasions;
- Building and maintaining relationships with governments, constituents and key community leaders;
- Coordinating with the Deputy District Director to communicate regularly with stakeholders, RI government leaders, delegation staff;
- Maintaining relationships with state and local government leaders;
- Overseeing all District Office operations and safety;
- Maintaining oversight of the Member’s constituent casework activities with federal departments and agencies;
- Assigning staff for events and meetings;
- Attending events to staff and/or serve as a representative for the Member, including on evenings and weekends, as necessary.
The District Director reports to the Chief of Staff. The District Director directly manages the Deputy District Director, Director of Constituent Services, Senior Advisor, and the RI-based Scheduler, and oversees the management of the full district office.
This is a senior staff position, which requires a high degree of availability and the ability to independently solve problems and address quickly changing situations.
