The Organized Crime Commission has been tasked by the Governor to assess and to evaluate current efforts by law enforcement throughout New Mexico to combat organized crime in the areas of Human Trafficking, Drug Trafficking, and Gun Smuggling. We will use our agents and analysts to lead efforts against criminal organizations throughout the state. The Organized Crime Commission is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer and is seeking applicants for an Executive Assistant position in Roswell, New Mexico. Under the supervision of the Executive Administrator, the Executive Assistant will manage the Special Agent’s case management systems, track data for statistical analysis, manage extended learning credit classes for OCC Special Agents, assist with vehicle administrative processes, and liaison with local law enforcement agencies, as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: This position requires knowledge of the criminal justice system, general office equipment; good typing, word processing skills and operational knowledge of spreadsheet programs; good math, grammar, and proof-reading skills; the ability to set up and meet with law enforcement agencies; the ability to prepare and draft legal documents; filing (e-filing) skills, and organizational skills; customer relations skills; ability to communicate effectively and follow directions and policies.

Requirements: Five years of minimum work experience in government administrative duties, legal assistant duties, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications: Additionally, the preferred candidate will have at least eight (8) years of relevant work experience in government administrative duties; legal assistant duties, or related field and demonstrate strong technical and interpersonal skills, and excellent oral and written communication skills.

Working Conditions: Work is performed remotely from the place of duty and is typically an 8-5 Monday-Friday with some exceptions. Numerous training opportunities are available internally and externally. The Executive Assistant may be asked to travel up to 10% of their schedule and will have to attend meetings in Albuquerque and other parts of the state approximately once a month.

 This is a grant funded position with a term of at least two (2) years. Employment is dependent upon funding.  Salary is commensurate with experience.
