This position is eligible for an Appointment Incentive of $12,500.00 to the selected candidate who agreesto work for the agency for a minimum period of twelve (12) months.Under limited supervision, the long-term care Nurse Educator provides training and educational needs of theLTC staff who provide extended care to residents living with disabilities, suffering fromprogressive or chronic illnesses, behavioral health needs and those with Alzheimer’s disease ordementia. Responsible for the management of the Staff Development Department, determiningtraining needs, developing the program structure, and coordinating the delivery of trainingprograms. Evaluates new and existing training programs for relevancy and effectiveness.Coordinates training calendar annually with facility’s department managers, hospital “experts”,external program delivery sources, etc. Responsible for facility direct care education departmental budgetand formulating facility direct care education departmental policies and procedures. Performs related duties as required. Mandatory overtime is an essential function of this position.Applicants selected for employment must successfully complete a chemical urinalysis and breath analysis drug and alcohol screening test. All employees shall be subject to drug and alcohol testing for probable cause as set forth in agency and bureau policies. Applicants must successfully complete a criminal background check.
