CONSTITUTIONAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE LAW DIVISION
Attorney General Campbell is looking for a highly motivated individual to join her team as a Paralegal in the Constitutional Administrative Law Division (“CAdLaw”) within the Government Bureau. The Government Bureau represents state agencies and officials in a broad range of civil litigation in state and federal courts. As part of that effort, CAdLaw defends legal challenges to state statutes and regulations; suits that challenge the implementation of state policies and programs; and suits for judicial review of the decisions of state administrative agencies.
Primary Duties: Provide day-to-day support for all aspects of the attorneys’ case requirements. The responsibilities for this position may include the following: fact gathering; attending client meetings and depositions (both in and outside the office), court hearings, appellate arguments, and trials; drafting simple court pleadings; preparing court documents for filing, with particular emphasis on appellate briefs and administrative records of state agency proceedings; opening, organizing, and maintaining case files; reviewing documents and exhibits; providing support and assistance to the attorneys in preparation for hearings, appellate arguments, depositions, meetings, or trial; communicating with clients, attorneys, and witnesses, as well as court clerks’ offices; screening and preparing mail; managing calendars (including the scheduling of critical dates, deadlines, and case-related appointments); completing forms; and maintaining and updating a case management system. Additionally, there will be administrative and other duties that may be assigned, as required.
Position Type: Full-time/Non-Exempt. Our current hybrid model includes some remote workdays with a mandatory two (2) days working on site in Boston.
Salary: $53,762
