BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: This position is located in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), Office of Budget and Planning (OBP), Financial Planning Analysis Management Services Division (FPAMS). The incumbent will have responsibility for tracking and monitoring the execution of, and reporting on, the District’s budget. Duties may include but are not limited to: improving the accuracy of reports downloaded from the system of record; coordinating with District agencies to develop and submit their spending plans and updating indexes/PCAs to facilitate the loading of operating budgets; providing training in the Budget Formulation process for agencies serviced and developing modules to effectively monitor, control, and help eliminate potential deficits; troubleshooting financial systems and providing guidance on the use of the financial systems for both OBP and the rest of the District; participating in the development and implementation of District-wide financial reporting tools; and acts as OBP’s security officer for all financial applications. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Four (4) years of progressive experience performing the related duties and responsibilities such as assisting with the automation of the budget process, creating and generating complex financial reports; providing technical support on financial systems; validating data, conducting financial and systems analysis. ORACLE and Business Intelligence/Hyperion experience is desired.Experience that provides the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for this position.
