Administrative Assistant (Part-time) – Austin, Texas
The Office of the Governor is looking for an Administrative Assistant (Part-time) (Administrative Assistant III) to work in the Scheduling and Advance Division.

What You’ll Do
The Administrative Assistant (Part-time) reports to the Director of Scheduling and Advance. Performs complex (journey-level) administrative support work. Work involves confidential and sensitive correspondence and communications. Answers incoming calls for the division.
- Provides assistance to the public and answers questions on agency services and functions.
- Performs administrative, office and/or clerical support duties as assigned within the Scheduling and Advance Division.
- Performs general office duties such as handling correspondence for invitations, answering the phones, and following up with other divisions on requests.
- Accepts, logs, and efficiently routes mail.
- Performs timely and accurate data entry into the office database.
- Serves as Travel Liaison for the division. Coordinates and processes travel related forms and documents for the division.
- Serves as the Purchase Requisition Coordinator for the division. Coordinates and processes purchase requisitions for the division.
- Serves as the Divisional Records Retention Coordinator. Develops and maintains filing, recordkeeping, and records management systems.
- Assists with inventory and classification of division files according to the OOG Records Retention Schedule.
- May assist on special projects.
How You’ll Qualify
- High school graduate or equivalent; and
- Three (3) years of experience as a receptionist with responsibility for responding to multiple phone lines, switchboard duties, or as an administrative assistant tasked with providing technical or program support, including office, clerical, and customer service.
Note: Experience and education may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis.
